Welcome to my world!

My name is Rachel Alana, and I'm a beach kid from a small town in Orange County. I've been drawing as long as I can remember. Some of my favorite things to draw when I was young were ballet dancers, sea creatures, and the characters from the Magic School Bus. My tastes and skills have expanded since then, but at the heart my goal as an artist is still the same. I strive to make my art engaging and fun--both for myself and for the viewer.

I'm crazy about books, museums, architecture, gardens, and the ocean, and usually one or more of these things will find their way into my work. I also have a lifelong obsession with drawing people . . . to me, they're the most interesting subjects of all!

Currently I'm attending California State University, Long Beach, where I'm pursuing a BFA in Illustration. Take a look around the site and check out my portfolios!

My name is Rachel Alana, and I'm a freelance illustrator based in North Orange County, California. I've been drawing since I was about three years old, and to this day my artistic goal remains the same--to make stuff that is engaging and fun!

I'm crazy about food, fashion, music, literature, history, architecture, gardens, and swimming, so those things usually find their way into my work. Most of all, I have a lifelong obsession with drawing people, from outer clothing to inner anatomy!

I have a BFA in Illustration from California State University, Long Beach.
